FOOD OUTLETS OPEN AT THE BASE

Food, glorious food
Before lockdown, our house was allllll about the takeaways. But, whether it’s down to boredom, necessity or even as a homeschooling science and technology lesson, I’ve really enjoyed cooking at home. Regardless, I’m glad to see some of my favourite The Base foodies fire back up under COVID-19 Alert Level 3.
Burgerfuel’s back baby! They’ll have their menu available for contactless collection with parking right at the door. Head to www.burgerfuel.com/nz to get your fix (and don’t forget the milkshakes).
One of the things I’ve missed the most has been great coffee and The Coffee Club is stepping up to see us through! They’ll have a great range of their delicious cabinet food (those cheesecakes slices are something else!) a limited meal menu and the all-important coffee available for contactless collection. Visit www.thecoffeeclub.co.nz for details and ordering. This is my pick for Mother’s Day brunch, their eggs benedict IS on the menu!
Right next door, Jesters Pies will be serving up pastry perfection with a selection of traditional, gourmet and more health conscious pies. Check out the menu at www.jesterspies.co.nz and phone the store on 07 847 6100 to order. Remember though; always blow on the pie – safer communities together!
If you’re missing Taco Tuesday (or Wednesday, Thursday, wait – what day is it?!), Mad Mex (visit www.madmex.co.nz for info and ordering) a has you covered for Mexican deliciousness – available for collection or delivery. Our Te Awa contactless collection point is across the road from the main entrance to Te Awa. Order and follow the directions of your store, stay in your car and they’ll bring your order to you. Or, sit at home in your jammies and wait for it to come to you. Couldn’t be easier right?!
