Accessibility
The Base Shopping Centre is committed to providing excellent service to all our customers, including those with accessible needs.
To ensure all customers can navigate around the enclosed Te Awa mall with ease, entrances are controlled by automatic doors, aisles are wide with good LED lighting and escalators, travelators and lifts provide good access to all levels of the centre from street level and basement carparking, making accessibility to shops and facilities easy.
Access to outdoor retail areas is also facilitated through accessible parking in multiple areas and the provision of well-lit, covered, smooth and stable walkways with road crossing assistance around the site. Find your way around the centre with high-contrast signage throughout.
Carparking
Dedicated mobility carparking is available near all street level and parking basement entrances to The Base as well as around the site in the exterior retail areas. These carpark spaces are available to vehicles clearly displaying a valid mobility permit and are monitored.
Basement carparks are located near mall entrances and are serviced by nearby lifts. Look for blue lights over these carparks to find them from a distance.
Outside, accessibility parks are located near Gloria Jeans Café, Farmers entrance, Number 1 Shoes, Macpac, The Warehouse, Kiwibank, Briscoes, ASB, AMI, Heathcotes, Citta Deisgn, Mitre 10 Mega and beside the playground.
Please contact the customer service team on 07 847 9450 to discuss which carpark would best suit your needs on your next visit.
